| GPS(Global Positioning System) is used for car navigation, and mobile phone as a means to get the precise current position. Collaborating with Thales Navigation(previously Magellan)USA to develop and manufacture GPS receiver. Development of next generation receiver, portable unit for mobile phone and car mount unit have been on the way. Map display is essential to MMI(Man Machine Interface) of GPS. The map is displayed on the portable data terminal since we succeeded in storing the data of wide range map in a small memory by the application of our technologies such as data compressing and image processing. Forecast of GPS market is thought to be expanding since various kind of applications shall be possible, therefore we will keep pursuing GPS as one of the main technologies. |
